Come Cheer on Your Student in the Dalmatian Dash!
3 days ago, KATHERINE GUMBEL
A colorful school event flyer titled “Dalmatian Dash Schedule.” At the top left, a cartoon Dalmatian puppy dressed as a world traveler runs across the page wearing a tan hat with a globe emblem, a red scarf, blue backpack, and sneakers. A globe appears behind the title. The background is bright blue with white clouds and landmarks including the Eiffel Tower on the left and the Statue of Liberty on the right. Below the title, a message reads: “We encourage families and friends to attend and cheer on the kids! The more the merrier – signs are encouraged!” A schedule lists grade-level participation times: 3rd Grade: 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. 5th Grade: 11:20 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. 2nd Grade: 12:10 p.m. to 12:55 p.m. Kindergarten: 1:25 p.m. to 2:10 p.m. 1st Grade: 2:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. 4th Grade: 3:05 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. Each grade is paired with a travel-themed icon, such as a sun, airplane, mountains, palm tree, camera, or globe. At the bottom, a section titled “Planning to Attend the Dalmatian Dash?” explains that all adults and visitors must preregister to attend the event. Families are asked to scan a QR code to register each adult visitor. The text notes that preregistration helps ensure a safe and smooth event and invites attendees to cheer on the Red Pumpers along the Dash route. A large QR code labeled “Scan to Register” appears on the lower right. The flyer is framed by a grassy green landscape with a bright, cheerful travel-adventure theme throughout.

The Harford County Board of Education has approved an adjustment to the 2026-2027 calendar involving built-in inclement weather days. Schools and offices will now be closed on March 1, June 1, and April 12, 2027, and those days will be used as makeup days, in the order listed, only if needed due to inclement weather cancellations.

The adjustment reflects guidance from the Maryland State Board of Education, which has expressed a preference for makeup days to be distributed throughout the school year, and the use of virtual instruction, rather than adding days to the end of the school year.

The full, updated 2026–2027 school calendar is available here. En Español.
